Time Tracking with Jira

Here you will learn how to install the CoffeeCup plugin for Jira Cloud and Jira Server and create time entries from tickets.

Create tickets in Jira and track your worktime from here. In addition to time tracking via the "Week view", there are three other options available to you.

Installing the CoffeeCup plugin for Jira Cloud

Note: You need administration rights for Jira to install the add-on.

1. Open Jira and log in with your user data.
​2. Click on the admin drop-down list and select "Add-ons".
​3. Click the "Find new Add-ons" button on the left side.
​4. Use the search to find and download the "CoffeeCup app.

Create time entries

The CoffeeCup Add-on for Jira uses the same login credentials as the browser application. You only need to log in to your CoffeeCup account once, so Jira saves your connection data for future use.

1. Enter your CoffeeCup company URL in the "CoffeeCup account" input field and click "Connect".

2. Click on a Jira ticket you are working on or create a new one.

3. Click on "Open CoffeeCup" on the right side of the screen.

4. A new time entry will open. Enter here which project and task you are working on. Add a comment so that you can follow your work later. Finally, save this time entry.
